Everybody has a chicken-and-rice night. This is the version that ends it. Sliced chicken seared hard, then tossed in a honey-sriracha glaze that goes sticky and glossy right in the pan — sweet first, heat right behind it — piled over rice with crispy sweet potato fries and edamame so the bowl actually eats like a meal. Thirty minutes, about 42 grams of protein a serving, and a sauce you will want to put on everything else in the fridge.
The glaze is only four ingredients, but the order does the heavy lifting. The chicken sears on its own first, so it browns instead of steaming in sauce. The honey, sriracha, soy, and rice vinegar get whisked together and poured over at the end, where the pan's heat thickens the honey into a sticky coating in about a minute — long enough to cling, not long enough to burn. Sweet potato fries roast while the chicken cooks, edamame adds a second protein without a second pan, and the rice underneath catches every bit of glaze that runs off.
Heat is a dial here, not a decision: two tablespoons of sriracha is a warm medium, so go to three if your house likes it hot, or swap half the honey for a little extra and add a squeeze of lime at the end to brighten it up. The glaze also works on shrimp (two minutes a side, same toss) and on salmon, and the bowls meal-prep well for three days if you keep the fries separate and re-crisp them in a hot pan.
One honest note: at roughly 540 calories a serving by our estimate, this is a full dinner — the fries and rice are doing real work, and the protein earns its keep.
